ASTM A240 Grade 310 Plate made by a medium carbon austenitic stainless steel, for higher temperature applications such as heat treatment equipment and furnace parts. SS 310 Sheet is used at temperatures up to 1150°C in continuous service, and 1035°C in intermittent service. SS 310S Plate is a low carbon version of grade 310.WNR 1.4841 Sheets contain 20% nickel, and 25% chromium, making them highly resistant to oxidation and corrosion. The high chromium and medium nickel content make these UNS S31000 Sheets capable for applications in reducing sulphur atmospheres containing H2S. 310 Stainless Steel Perforated Sheets are widely used in moderately carburising atmospheres, as encountered in petrochemical environments. Also referred as ASME SA240 TP 310 Sheets, these Werkstoff No. 1.4845 Plates are not suitable for frequent liquid quenching as it suffers from thermal shock. Stainless Steel 310 Chequered Plate is often used in cryogenic applications, due to its toughness and low magnetic permeability.

ASTM A240 Type 310S Sheet is very hard, wear – resistant, tough, and inert to local overheating, and frequently engineered to particular service requirements. Stainless Steel 310 Coils also have to be dimensionally stable during hardening and tempering. Stainless Steel 310 Plates contain strong carbide formers such as vanadium, tungsten, molybdenum, and chromium in different combinations and often cobalt or nickel to improve high – temperature performance.
